anglais I thought I would get a movie in a similar vein like for example Seven. And yes, I accept the fact that Seven is the best there can be in the genre. In the end what I got was a completely mediocre detective movie, which is only a bit mysterious and if not for a solid performance by Morgan Freeman, it would have been pretty boring. The murders brutally dragged on and the movie had no pace that would force me to enthusiastically continue watching it. ()

anglais Nineties dark crime. Personally, I consider Kiss the Girls to be significantly above average within the genre and the creative output of the respective decade, and I have no problem repeatedly returning to it, unlike many other films. Morgan Freeman is great as usual, and Ashley Judd not only has a young and attractive face but also possesses a decent amount of acting talent, so you tend to believe in all her emotions. Gary Fleder may not be Fincher, but in the nineties, his work was solid, and Kiss the Girls is actually his most interesting piece, which he managed to give darkness, uneasiness, and a good dose of mystery atmosphere. Casanova may not be Hannibal Lecter, but he would definitely not be misplaced as one of the group of sophisticated serial killers. Overall impression: 75%. ()

anglais The wave of Se7en was really massive and for several years filmmakers tried to ride on its popularity – mostly in vain. The same goes for the average Gary Fleder and this even more average story of a brutal women’s killer Casanova. The psychology is not great, the actors perform their detective standard, and the only noteworthy aspect is perhaps Ashley Judd in her first blockbuster and the scene where she crashes into the aquarium. The rest is an awfully clichéd, wannabe shocking film that clearly tells us who the killer is and who is just a pawn. A truly botched exploration of the practices of a mass killer, which repels the viewer with its mediocrity, as well as its inability to captivate. ()

anglais Average with all the trimmings. As in the 2001 sequel, Morgan Freeman is the most uninteresting thing about the entire film, which wants to be suspenseful and dark, but fails to do so and only resembles other films that have succeeded. ()
