Uncle Joe McTeague (Kirk Douglas) is a cantankerous, contemptible old man but he's filthy rich. In fact, Joe's so wealthy that his nieces and nephews, the only kin he's got, have been indulging and obliging the miserable geezer for years in hopes of inheriting his money. When Joe finds a barely post-pubescent English tart (Olivia d'Abo) to cater to his every whim, the family goes bonkers, fearing they'll lose all the money to the young stranger. But they come together instead and formulate Plan B. This leads the family to bowling failure Daniel McTeague (Micheal J. Fox), a good-hearted, socially conscious relative even old uncle Joe won't refuse. (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais This is classic 1990s comedy. Everyone is in their place, looking and acting exactly as they should. The lead roles are split between Michael J. Fox and Kirk Douglas for good measure and I loved Nancy Travis in the American version of Three Men and a Baby, and if you pay attention, you'll find the lovely Kirsten Dunst among the children. They don't make films like this anymore, and if you like that time period, you'll find it to your liking. ()
