As Thomas Jeffferson Johnson, Murphy hustles his way to the big time and wins an elected seat in the U.S. Congress. But that's only the beginning -- with the perks and power of his new position, Murphy cons for cash and doesn't have to break the law to bamboozle the big bucks! You can be sure you'll love it when Eddie Murphy goes to Washington! (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais Representative of a numerous group of hopelessly average movies that won't offend but also lack the potential to enthuse. A few decent jokes, a few likable actors, an evident effort to mildly criticize without hitting any nerves, and above all, to sell well. If I were to compare it to a movie like "Groundhog Day" as satire, where that film mercilessly stabs, "The Nutty Professor" only lightly prods with a finger. Objectively speaking, the film would deserve three stars, but Eddie Murphy has disgusted me in recent years with his tired, stereotypical characters, so my overall impression of the film is no more than 45%.
