I really don't understand what this is supposed to be. Or rather, I don't understand why it is presented as part of this series. It has nothing to do with it, nor does it have anything to do with King's story. What's even worse is that the overall story doesn't make much sense, and above all, it's a pretty bad horror. It doesn't even have a hint of the atmosphere of "The Thing", which took place in the same setting.
