Mystery est une petite ville d'Alaska isolée du reste du monde, où les températures hivernales sont extrêmes et où le hockey sur glace est plus qu'un sport national. Toute la ville est en émoi quand l'équipe de Hockey locale doit affronter les célèbres Rangers de New York... I can’t believe it! What is someone of the calibre of Russel Crowe doing in such a naive farce? Yeah, I know, getting the quality of the film to at least 50%… "We will show them. It's our pond!" - LOL!

How on earth the Canadian filmmakers managed to persuade such prominent stars to appear in this humdrum snack is the only surprising thing about the whole movie. Outsiders living in a small town where they live out they happy lives, and their match against a professional team. You know the score. Well, Mystery gives you that in ice hockey packaging. It’s not awful, but it’s unbelievably long and everything happens that you expect to. At least the match itself, despite being full of sports clichés, is filmed well and even has some suspense. And don’t you worry, in the end somebody in a slow-motion shot flexes his muscles and slaps in the deciding goal. Let’s hear ya: WOW!
