This installment didn't strike me as fundamentally weak, but that's also because I just can't watch this series objectively. Ichi's character is just brilliant. I liked how the past is present here, how Ichi just wants to visit somewhere on his travels, and as a result, the town essentially falls under his sword. But they brought it upon themselves.
