The film captures the reality of everyday life in a home for the elderly through the animation of fleeting gestures, everyday things and fragments of overheard conversations. Somewhere in the woods there lies a hidden home for the elderly. It may seem as if nothing is happening here, but on closer inspection the place is full of life. Shuffling movements and the clatter of walkers along long corridors, a dripping faucet, a flashing instrument panel next to one of the beds, snippets of chatter from staff on their break, a quick cigarette on the balcony, the clink of cutlery in the canteen, and a conversation over a glass of wine. Thanks to the authentic soundtrack and animations, we managed to breathe life into the daily operation of the institution, which – unlike its clients – will never stop completely. (One World)
