Située au Japon dans la préfecture de Gifu, Tajimi est célèbre pour ses céramiques. La ville est ainsi parsemée de nombreux producteurs artisanaux sans oublier son célèbre musée de la poterie Mino. Season 1 (2021) (S01)

anglais Let's Make a Mug Too is a pretty ordinary slice of life anime series about four girls and their pottery club. There is a classic collection of characters – one spirited girl who is as energetic as a Duracell bunny rabbit, then there is the reserved and talented club leader who is happy to give out advice, the main female protagonist who is just finding her feet and trying to gain some confidence in producing porcelain and ceramics, etc, and her friend who is more or less just in the background. There is nothing new under the sun in that respect, and the relative brevity of each episode (they are only about fifteen minutes long) makes it enjoyable and easy to digest, i.e. the episode is over before it starts getting boring. Let's Make a Mug Too is also a pretty good advertisement for one of Japan's prefectures and one of its cities, Tajimi. There are some interesting facts about what typically goes on in Tajimi and what it is known for, some new facts about porcelain and ceramics (and I do not mean the massive revelation that even toilet bowls are made of porcelain), plus they show some other weird things that could be made from it as well. In other words, I found this anime series interesting a few times, here and there. 6/10. ()

Nibangama (2021) (S02)

anglais Like the first season, the second one managed to keep me interested here and there. I think I found it a little bit better and more coherent than the first season. There were even some episodes where I was really entertained all the way through, like when the girls were guessing what each of the special items was used for in the pottery shop, and for some reason, I was reminded of the Czech TV game show Kufr. Likewise, the conclusion itself was pretty good, and I also credit the fact that I, like most others, did not see the final reveal coming. Still, some things were missing like more depth of emotion and probably a little better fleshing out in some of the more dramatic moments to make it more enjoyable. However, it was fine + a good advert for ceramics and one Japanese city, so the three stars are really very strong. 6.4/10. ()
