Biographie

At 18, he moved to Barcelona to study Hispanic Philology, Theory of Spanish Literature, and he began studying Art History. His first feature film was Crespià, the film not the village (2003). Honor de cavalleria (2006), his second film was shown at Cannes in 2006 making him a reference in contemporary auteurist European cinema. In 2008 he returned to Cannes to present El Cant dels Ocells, his third film. Other highlights in his filmography are Història de la meva mort (2013), with which he won the Gold Leopard at Locarno and La Mort de Louis XIV, Jean Vigo Award. His film Roi Soleil won the Grand Prix at FIDMarseille.
