Where are my mudguards?

A sympathetic message in a fairytale packaging, which I could never comprehend. And yet, I otherwise consider Svěrák almost a genius.

"Which lord is your father?" - "Lord....Voldemort...." Strange meeting of English-speaking countries in an unfunny teenage something. Genre-wise nothing special, and even less so qualitatively.

Probably the most difficult film for me to evaluate that I have ever seen. On one hand, it features one of Ewan McGregor's best performances, breathtaking scenery, and a very interestingly depicted, albeit unfamiliar, setting for me. On the other hand, the second half is not surprising at all and unnecessarily obscures the original idea. As I write this review, I am left with mostly positive memories, so I round it up to a solid 70%.

The most exciting kind of modern entertainment, which cannot be hated. There are really a lot of ideas on how to disgustingly kill cute woodland animals.

I resisted it for a few years, but the classic grew here. The battles surprise with grandeur, the dragon and cricket polish all boundaries of humor, and even though the central plot occasionally grazes clichés, it does not harm the tension and entertainment. Once again, the song accompaniment fascinates, dominated by the training anthem "I'll make a man out of you".

"I love science, but I prefer money," "When we returned, he died unnecessarily," but mainly "I'm so hungry that I would trade my own grandmother for one tic tac." A terrifying movie in the least explicit meaning.

Engaging story, beautiful soundtrack, and a gripping ending. However, Forman did not incorporate divine choreography, an unmistakable atmosphere, or anything that a period musical should have. And I cannot forgive that, especially since it is not an original piece. The songs are perfect, but they are simply arranged one after another as fans of the musical expect and as they should and must be. But there is a lack of surprise, and I only get divine music, which I do not accept in this film adaptation.

Attempt to create a believable atmosphere of everyday mundane life without school performances and university romances. Logically, this episode ages the fastest, and thirty years after its creation, it simply drags in certain episodes. However, Štěpán is fortunately still a romantic dreamer with fewer naive desires, but everything compensates for the viewer's sacrifices with a beautiful love story at the castle. So on one hand, there's incomprehensible stagnation in one place (the cellar), and on the other hand, the strongest romance with a perfect conclusion.

One of the reasons why the general public began to swear at romantic comedies was because of numerous repeats in the television afternoon, the impossible dummy Julia, the incomprehensibly ragged Gere, and the tired Marshall as the director with minimal fresh ideas. What surprises me the most is that the Bride practically goes beyond the genre. Romance does not work at all in it, and it is funny almost by accident.
