Guerre et amour (1975)

anglais Allen in the army, in the artillery, in Beranice, with a fan. One of Woody's best films, the parodic expression combined with his typical dialogues and monologues was a stroke of genius. "Choose your weapon" - "I'll take these"

Comment se faire larguer en 10 leçons (2003)

anglais Kate on the doorstep of her entry into the rom-com genre and Matthew in a period when he couldn't choose movies. In other words, a prime example of how several well-shot romantic scenes can be drowned in a flood of screaming attempts at humor. As a whole, it is unacceptable, bizarre, and logically flawed, and desperately full of plot holes. However, in individual aspects, it is at least a little decent. 50%

Le Cinquième Élément (1997)

anglais It's a real pity that Chris Tucker is involved. As entertaining as he usually is, here he is more annoying and ruins an otherwise great show with his performances. The same can be said about Besson himself, who, despite creating a wonderfully fantastic world with a fascinating mythology, couldn't hold back his imagination in the middle part, making the storyline feel a bit cluttered and rushed (especially regarding Corben's development). The biggest strengths of the film are, of course, the adorable Milla Jovovich and the slimy Gary Oldman.

The Killer (1989)

anglais In a direct comparison, better by a class than Hard Boiled. Woo replaces endless (although effective) shootouts with shorter but more impactful fights, with a simple but thankfully strong storyline. Furthermore, Chow Yun-Fat is better as a tough killer than as a tough cop.

The Weather Man (2005)

anglais A film for all those who have come home at least once, sat down in a chair, and for some unknown reason, felt sad. Although I was slightly disappointed right after watching it, a few days later, I sat down just like that and suddenly I saw Cage and Cain in the car, joking about a funeral speech, and I understood that Verbinski conveyed what he wanted to say in the most stylish way possible.

Vol 93 (2006)

anglais Absolute experience that destroys viewers' senses. Greengrass's directing style brought to the highest level of tolerance through maximum authenticity and squeezing emotions in hectoliters. The second viewing, moreover, does not diminish the impression, on the contrary, it elevates it to the highest spheres. Those who haven't seen it have no chance of understanding the flood of praise.

Zoolander (2001)

anglais On most works of the legendary Frat Pack, I can find a surprisingly large number of mistakes, but this is a bomb. Insane, at times incomprehensible, but full of absurd humor and immensely funny and striving for the highest rating for me. Zoolander has exactly the swagger and the right way of uncontrollability and unclassifiability that I can adore even at an age when I am no longer the target audience.

The Safety of Objects (2001)

anglais The attempt to approach American beauty is evident (perhaps sometimes unnecessary). Life certainties, however, are more bizarre, simpler, and, above all, sadder. From the actors, I would highlight Josh Jackson, for whom I have a general weakness, and also Timothy Olyphant, who squeezed out absolute maximum from his role.

L.A. Confidential (1997)

anglais Gangster film as it should be - bloody, sometimes even brutal, with tough heroes, inconspicuous traitors, a beautiful femme fatale, and a brilliant shootout at the end. Exactly the type of movie where you give it the highest rating without hesitation at the end and the only thing you can say about it is that it is simply divine...

Cabriolet (2001)

anglais I remember that at the time of the film's release, I saw the trailer and thought to myself how much I wanted to see Bystroň's laid-back indie. When we met with Cabriolet five years later, it was a different story, because from an ambitious cinema debut, it turned into a ridiculously bad disaster. The only thing saving it is the oak actors and the (deservedly) acclaimed music by Ivan Král. The plot twist twenty minutes before the end is so contrived and unbelievable that all I could do was laugh at it.
