It's not a great movie, it doesn't have a well-crafted story, but it's a nice return to a legend, especially with Chow Yun-Fat, who you can see is also sixty years old. However, the ending is very well done and you will like it even more due to the nostalgia. I am sure though that not everyone will appreciate the humorous approach. I am curious about the next installment.

For me, this is an example of great filmmaking from both the director's perspective and the excellent acting demonstrated by Al Pacino, who is simply unbelievable in how he transforms from a relatively naive policeman into a person who cannot be easily broken and always pursues his goals. He has done an absolutely wonderful job here, and it is evident that this story was written by life itself because it is ugly and cruel.

I can't help it, but this felt to me like a parody of The Godfather in English. Brothers who want to become feared mafia in the English underworld are pretending to be tough guys and trying to impress us with one or two rough scenes, which I personally could imagine as worse, but the creators obviously didn't have the courage for it. Weak, boring, and unoriginal.

A strong patriotic film that tries a little to deceive with its story being quite emotional and additionally told in flashbacks, which ultimately leads to the expectation of a truly powerful outcome, but in the end it comes across as very, very pathetically. However, there are definitely good moments and overall the film is well directed, some aerial scenes might surprise.

I simply enjoy boxing movies and I feel that it's difficult to make one that is truly bad. This one is not great, but it has great locations and you can see that Fuqua knows how to shoot a great scene, not only action-packed but also sporty. Some shots from the ring are just fantastic, even though in the emotional aspect, it's somewhat one-dimensional.

That would be a return of great Italian filmmaking, moreover with well-known faces of the world's film industry? At first glance, I thought it would be a cheap affair without any originality, but this is beautifully visually processed, furthermore with the essence of real fairy tales, that is, horror stories that people have loved and still love. Unbelievable surprise.

A very enjoyable movie, at least for me, judging by the person who directed it. I don't really like this era of European film, but it is clear that Truffaut himself diverged from it, and it was for the best because something truly understanding of films and their production emerged from it, willing to provide this perspective to the viewer, in addition to being accessible and comprehensible.

In the new millennium, it's not as fun anymore, so I'm quite curious about how the pair of films with Chow Yun-fat turned out. Out of these, I only enjoyed the adventure of him trying to get closer to his new roommate, but it wasn't granted to him. This way, the movie lacks a proper development that would reach its climax.

Well, not really. Two hours is too much for this thing, especially when we are still waiting for the final performance, which is - I must admit - truly the highlight, it is entertaining and as a guy, I enjoyed it. Excellent choreography and above all, great dancers. However, I didn't have the feeling that this film has the depth it wants to present. As a road movie, it was truly boring.

Elliott Gould is definitely an interesting actor, but in my opinion, he simply didn't fit into the character of Philip Marlowe. With Robert Altman, they gave the whole myth a quite interesting, completely new form, but it doesn't suit Marlowe, even though the story remains essentially hard boiled. No, it's not what you expect, and no, it may not entertain you.
