Delicious (2013)

anglais Quite an interesting theme, where something quite serious is intertwined in the romance, but unfortunately, it's not fully developed to the end. In the end, the creator attempted some interesting ideas so it wouldn't end overly saccharine, but you still feel like everything was created just for the romance itself and for nothing else.

Pat Garrett et Billy le Kid (1973)

anglais This western has an incredible atmosphere of impending downfall. Someone’s downfall. At the beginning, we know who is dying, but as we return in retrospect, we realize that what we saw at the start has a deeper meaning than we originally thought. The destruction of the individual here is quite realistic, yet the ending isn't so bloody, but rather emotional. Plus there’s Dylan's wonderful music and his acting skills.

Lavalantula (2015) (téléfilm)

anglais I hope SyFy TV will make more films like this because I simply enjoy them. These are B-movies that make fun of themselves and do not take themselves seriously, yet they're entertaining, and you can see that the creators want to entertain the audience. In my case, this was fully successful, even the runtime is great, leaving no dull moments. Simply a monster TV B-movie the way it should be.

Deadly Virtues (2014)

anglais I can't help but be impressed by this. I know this is quite a worn-out topic, but the way it was presented here, how the intruder acts naturally, lightly, there's something truly terrifying about it. Even more terrifying is how everything turns out, and how you realize that actually, everyone who appeared in larger roles in this film was terrifying.

Beyond the Mask (2015)

anglais I must be in a good mood or something because even for these fairly bad and predictable movies, I give them a quite high rating. This is a kind of Zorro, but with a different twist and based on American history. Occasionally, it tries to be funny, occasionally action-packed, and it's quite melodramatic. But for a low-budget production, it didn't seem that bad to me.

A Perfect Man (2013)

anglais Nina sacrifices her own life for her husband James, but when she discovers that he is cheating on her, and quite often, she decides it's time for a change. However, ending such a long relationship is not easy. And so, even though she leaves, she can't forget. And she calls him. She adds a Dutch accent to her voice (they live in the Netherlands) and he doesn't recognize her. They understand each other incredibly well over the phone. It's a pretty good idea with pleasant actors, but unfortunately, overall, it doesn't really stand out. And I've seen quite a few of these romances lately. It's almost a shame about the ending. Maybe it could have had a more classic approach after all.

The Harder They Come (1972)

anglais My first Jamaican movie and I think it will also be the last for a long time. Not that I didn't like it, but I don't really seek out this genre. And let's be honest, this film is great in one crucial aspect - its music. It plays a fundamental role here and can easily distract you from the plot, which you won't remember much afterwards.

Renaissances (2015)

anglais Well, this is quite a big disappointment. I expected at least an interesting visual spectacle from Tarsem Singh, but I didn't even get that fully. There are scenes here that catch your attention, visually speaking, but there are too few of them. Unfortunately, this sci-fi is so transparent that basically after half an hour, you will already see how it all ends. And the movie is supposed to be two hours long...

affiche

Arthur & Merlin (2015)

anglais I don't want to see King Arthur and the wizard Merlin in a low-budget movie. I can play something like that in my head. I want to see them in an amazing blockbuster with monsters, huge battles, and everything will be pompous. This is simply an attempt by young filmmakers to make a living off the legend and try to portray it as pseudo-original and occasionally funny.

The Hills Run Red (2009)

anglais The film "Mountains Drenched in Blood" is quite a pleasant surprise and it is evident that even in the slasher genre it is possible to create an interesting movie, despite combining it with the mockumentary genre. This film works, it is sufficiently bloody, it is sufficiently daring, and I am glad that even American creators are not afraid to occasionally film something that has elements of innovation and is ultimately good. Perhaps even more than just good.
