Un seul deviendra invincible : Boyka (2016)

anglais Here, it's mainly about how fast Scott Adkins is driving, and he's obviously in top gear. What he's showcasing in the arena is absolutely incredible, and even though the story itself is very clichéd, his action-packed acrobatic performances simply prove what a master he is and how much he deserves space in front of the camera.

Jugement à Nuremberg (1961)

anglais When one gives older films a chance, one can be deservedly rewarded. This is also the case with the movie Judgment at Nuremberg, which not only boasts excellent casting but is truly a powerful and intriguing discourse on what justice is, who bears responsibility, and who is truly guilty. Not a single bad acting performance here!

The Purgation (2015)

anglais The Purgation is bad. It has a story that tries to be imaginative, but overall the execution and the possibilities of the filmmakers don't lead to any imaginativeness. It rather leads to scenes that can make your fingers curl from how poorly they are delivered. And yet, beneath this strain, you'll have a feeling that maybe it didn't have to be so bad, that perhaps there was potential somewhere in there after all. But no one took advantage of it.

Joven y Alocada (2012)

anglais It's a shame that the film is so flat and basically nothing interesting happens in it. You expect it to be spicy, but you won't see anything substantial here, except for a few short shots from porn. This just seems like a sort of cop-out, and considering the topic, there's a lot of untapped potential to be truly explicit yet still entertaining.

Blood Money (2012)

anglais If the film weren't so straightforward and it wasn't essentially clear from the beginning how the main character would develop, maybe it would be a bit more interesting. But this is just a fairly ordinary, albeit polished, story of self-destruction, where it all comes down to whether the hero changes his fate in the end or not. I guess how it turns out is to be expected.

Un seul deviendra invincible 3 (2010)

anglais It still has a nicely gritty atmosphere, and it's clear that the right choice of actor really helps the film a lot. Scott Adkins is exactly the right actor and his presence elevates the entire series. Here, moreover, he becomes an essentially positive character, which was necessary since this was going to be a longer series with Boyka in the lead role.

Johnny Mnemonic (1995)

anglais Johnny Mnemonic is packed with so many cool and wild ideas that I just can't help it. I literally spent the whole time marveling at everything the creators came up with. Keanu is quite clumsy, as expected from him, but I really like Dina Meyer, and besides, there's the wonderfully crazy Dolph and the classically devilish Udo. Yeah, this is bizarrely good fun.

Le Mystère Enfield (2015) (série)

anglais Definitely don't watch The Enfield Haunting thinking it's just some tea party. The very first scene is quite unpleasant, and there are plenty more that can give you chills. And it really doesn't have to be just about what's happening in the haunted house. The film is perhaps a little too focused on finding out what the truth is, if there is one, but it still has a good atmosphere and, most importantly, good characters.

Autohead (2016)

anglais Whenever Indians come up with a movie that's under two hours, there's something suspicious about it. And in my experience so far, in a good way. I don't like found footage/mockumentary films, but this concept, which doesn't try to show off unnecessarily, worked for me. Being a rickshaw driver is not easy and this film shows it beautifully. There are very unpleasant scenes here.

Un seul deviendra invincible 2 - Dernier round (2006)

anglais Michael Jai White and Scott Adkins showed that it's possible to get much more out of the Undisputed series than the first film achieved. Both lead actors are excellent choices, and their fighting is just gritty, full of adrenaline. Scott is a creep here, but that's exactly what was needed. The climax is almost not even the fight itself, but everything in between.
