Un homme à la hauteur (2016)

anglais Up for Love is a fairly ordinary romantic comedy, but when you cast two such charming actors in the lead roles, it simply has to entertain you. But it's a clear calculation because it's obvious that the diminished Jean Dujardin can still captivate all viewers. If it were a different, unknown guy, maybe it would be more unique.

Un lieu dans le monde (1992)

anglais An Argentinian film about what we leave behind and what will come back to us one day. If we give it a chance to come back. The setting in which the film takes place is very important here, which generally I appreciate in movies that come from a non-American origin. This isn't Hollywood pandering, this is just life.

Tracktown (2016)

anglais Excuse me, but what is supposed to interest me in this movie? That it's another film about a teenager dealing with a difficult situation that entered her life? That it's somewhat about running, which she can't do now? No, the protagonist is so uninteresting, just like the whole course of the movie, that it didn't give me anything.

Explosion imminente (2001)

anglais To have a couple of pretty good actors, even if they might be B-list actors, and not get anything out of it, not even a decent villain, is really an art. Whoever put this together definitely wasn't a professional and wouldn't impress even Steven Seagal, who at that time still acted and didn't just hide behind his bulging belly.

Lara Croft - Tomb Raider (2001)

anglais I used to really like Angelina for this role. But as it turned out, the film is so stupid that even its visible strengths couldn't save it. A silly story where it's really just about making it look flashy, which also doesn't work because the action scenes come off more stupid than brilliant. Overall, it’s bad.

Thermae Romae (2012)

anglais The Japanese have a knack for coming up with such unexpected stories that it simply takes your breath away, and essentially that's enough to enchant you with the film until the end. The creators decided to take as the main character a Roman spa designer who time-travels to modern Japan, where he draws inspiration for ancient baths. It’s crazy, and yet it works as a comedy, fantasy, light drama, and romance.

La Ruée sauvage (1938)

anglais The Texans is a film that probably won't blow you away; it's just a classic Hollywood western from the 1930s, where there aren't many intense scenes, at times it's more comedic, and there are actors who became famous more for other films. It's not bad, but it's not great either. Slightly above average just because I like westerns.

Dard Divorce (2007)

anglais Ittenbach's films have never been known for particularly good acting performances, but Dard Divorce is one of those where all the performances are so bad that it might bother you. Some of his films give you the feeling that he is a good filmmaker, but other times he shows you that he hasn't managed to make a film properly. In my case, Dard Divorce didn't manage to handle it and only delivered good gore, nothing more.

Le Voleur de Bagdad (1940)

anglais The movie "Thief of Bagdad" intrigued me because it is a naive film. That naivety is evident in the story, in the performances, where Sabu is incredibly spontaneous, and above all in the special effects, which are beautiful because of it. The film doesn't stand out in terms of its plot, but it is precisely its age that gives it charm.

La Femme d'à côté (1981)

anglais What happens when you have a happy family relationship but the past invades your life in the form of passion? Can he resist passion? Will Gerard's hero, who coincidentally meets his past love again, manage to handle it? Truffaut had excellent actors and a good subject, which is presented in a human yet dramatic way.
