The Most Hated Woman in America (2017)

anglais A biographical story about a woman who wanted to show America that it is possible to live without believing in God. It didn't go well. This in itself is a crucial fact worth watching the film for if you know nothing about Madalyn Murray O'Hair. However, the execution is rather ordinary and needlessly choppy.

Terumae romae II (2014)

anglais I'm quite surprised that there was even a sequel because this is a film so specific that you wonder how anyone could come up with anything else for it, but it happened. There is a second part, and it's not bad. There are some pretty good jokes, but otherwise, it's essentially the same as what you get with the first film.

La Mer à l'aube (2011)

anglais I was expecting it to be a movie that could shake a person, but that didn't happen somehow. It's not that it was downright bad, it's still a film about a powerful war story, but the execution is sometimes so expected, as if the emotions that it could have had disappeared from the artificiality.

La Nuit des fous vivants (1973)

anglais The Crazies brilliantly references how, in a critical moment, people intervene who may not even have the appropriate competencies, people who may not even want to protect but simply go and do as they're told. They become sheep, human sheep, who are not able to discern right from wrong; they just go and don't look to the right or left. They don’t think. George A. Romero was simply brilliant in this critique.

# Pire soirée (2017)

anglais Once something is happening, then it's good, it's funny, and it has the right drive. But once all the participants start talking a lot, it's no longer the same, and it becomes just awkward, without any proper lines, and with the ladies behaving, pardon the expression, like cows. No exceptions. Overall, an interesting cast that is killed by unnecessary chatter lacking depth or humor.

The Fantastic Four (1994)

anglais Sure it's bad, Stan Lee himself said this movie shouldn't have happened, but the worst part is, it didn't. It didn't have a proper premiere, even though it was filmed. Yet far worse films have been made that deserve actual damnation. For me, it's ultimately still the best adaptation of these comic book characters.

affiche

Fusion (2003)

anglais A classically bad American disaster film that also dabbles in sci-fi, which is too far-fetched, overly melodramatic, and taken too seriously, even though it would have been much better if treated as a classic B-movie, albeit with fairly good effects. The cast was good, and that's the only thing that deserves to be praised.

Les Anges de Boston (1999)

anglais Well, I was flabbergasted. This isn't just any ordinary crime/thriller, this is a proper gritty film about two brothers who decide to take justice into their own hands as two saints who are chosen to rid the world of filth. There's also the great Willem Dafoe, who is breathtaking as the policeman. A big surprise!

Ernest Goes to School (1994)

anglais Definitely the weakest Ernest film I've seen so far. It's all about the Jim Varney shenanigans now, which just isn't enough for a good story. There's an interesting contrast between the smart and dumb Ernest, but it ends precisely as Ernest becomes more and more stupid. This actually kills it and at times it hurts to watch the film.

Bloodlock (2008)

anglais While Bloodlock has some potential in terms of plot, any chance of scaring the viewer is killed by the almost amateurish execution that drags throughout the film. It's a shame because mysterious rooms and what's behind them is a subject I quite like. But there's nothing here that would upset you or make you tense. These creators simply couldn't have done more with it.
