En route pour Rio (1947)

anglais The pairing of Bing Crosby and Bob Hope is so good that something just had to come of this film. It was definitely a success. It's almost as if this film takes a little inspiration from Some Like It Hot, but then again, Road to Rio isn't quite as funny, it's not as packed with humor, and it doesn't grab you as much. Still, you'll probably enjoy it.

Blood Soaked (2014)

anglais Blood Soaked is a very amateur effort, and unfortunately, this time there's nothing positive to highlight about the film. You're not interested in the plot, you're not interested in the actors, and you're not interested in any of the ideas. The Nazis are woefully underused here, and you'll feel that the film is unnecessarily long, while it's not really that long. Spend your time on something else rather than a film like this.

Batman et Harley Quinn (2017)

anglais Who would have thought that from a comic book animated film, I would be most thrilled by the musical number? But the bar scene is just good, and both songs, especially the first one, are quite catchy. Moreover, it's tuned into humor, which was to be expected with the character of Harley Quinn. For the first time in a long time, I watched a comic cartoon that I enjoyed.

Time Toys (2016)

anglais It's the classic family film where the main focus is on children triumphing over evil adults, in this case, aided by the sci-fi gadgets that appear in the story. A few familiar faces appear here, most of them awkwardly pretending. The film somewhat surprises with the presence of digital effects, but there aren't many, just as there isn't much fun to be had with the film.

Table 19 (2017)

anglais You'd think it would be an interesting comedy, mainly because of the cast, but it ends up being quite bittersweet. That’s not a bad thing. But then the filmmakers decided to destroy everything by delivering an ending as stupid as any I’ve seen in a long time. When in doubt, resort to clichés and worn-out Hollywood recipes.

Slam Dunk Ernest (1995)

anglais Here, Ernest is too repetitive and Jim Varney is doing basically the same thing he did in the film set in the school. On one hand, he’s a goofball who messes everything up, but then suddenly he’s a great basketball player whose fame goes to his head. It's all about the pretense and the contrast between stupidity and perfection, where in the end, stupidity wins because it's beautifully simple.

Le Temps des Gitans (1988)

anglais What's great about the film is that on one hand, it's essentially a documentary trying to capture the everyday life of gypsies, but then suddenly there are scenes that are essentially epic and visually stunning. Although the film seems like a comedy at the beginning, its tone grows harsh and unpleasant until the very end. Great film work!

The Room (2003)

anglais Given that this is a cult film that many viewers can't get enough of, I guess I expected it to be even more of a hit. I have to admit, though, that Tommy Wiseau's acting is just so bad and so unique that at times you'll just stare at what he spits out. He's being serious, isn't he? It doesn't matter; this is something that can easily deter you. And probably excite you. For me, my enthusiasm is more restrained.

affiche

The Most Hated Woman in America (2017)

anglais A biographical story about a woman who wanted to show America that it is possible to live without believing in God. It didn't go well. This in itself is a crucial fact worth watching the film for if you know nothing about Madalyn Murray O'Hair. However, the execution is rather ordinary and needlessly choppy.

Terumae romae II (2014)

anglais I'm quite surprised that there was even a sequel because this is a film so specific that you wonder how anyone could come up with anything else for it, but it happened. There is a second part, and it's not bad. There are some pretty good jokes, but otherwise, it's essentially the same as what you get with the first film.
