Heavenly Sword (2014)

anglais I really liked the poster, and I thought it would be a proper action-packed and sexy 3D spectacle. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. There is some at times, but overall, it's nothing special, and the visual aspect isn't particularly great either. If it were a video game from five years ago, maybe I would have enjoyed it, but as a film, it's weak.

Vendredi 13 - Chapitre 5 : Une nouvelle terreur (1985)

anglais Friday the 13th: A New Beginning doesn't significantly deviate from the established quality, but the development of the mythology in a somewhat predictable yet interesting direction makes this film a slightly more intriguing experience than its predecessors. I quite enjoyed this installment, and I must say, the frequent female nudity in it adds to the enjoyment. Sometimes you have to settle for scenes like that.

Address Is Approximate (2011)

anglais It is such a sensitive, nicely cute, but definitely not something that should change your world. A small bite that is supposed to show that love can really be found almost everywhere. And it is actually true.

The Voyagers (2012)

anglais A person can accomplish a lot. And just as they are capable of conquering the universe, they strive to captivate the audience with interesting films. I don't think "The Voyagers" belongs to them. It is an interesting film essay, but it did not appeal to me and did not provide anything interesting to watch.

affiche

Frank (2014)

anglais A superb showcase of Michael Fassbender's acting mastery, as he confidently takes on a role where his face is mostly hidden by a mask throughout most of the film. Why shouldn't he take on such a challenge? I find it appealing for that reason, especially since this biographical film is brilliantly absurd, almost to a depressingly strong degree. Great performances.

Falcon Rising (2014)

anglais It’s got classic action sequences that try to look incredibly cool, just like all the characters who appear in them. The main character is quite bearable; you can see he can throw a punch, and his psychological disorder adds an interesting layer. Not that it makes that much sense for the story. Otherwise, it’s not pretending to be anything more than what it is.

affiche

Saint (2010)

anglais Saint has one major issue, and that's scenes that aren't fully developed. There's great potential in these scenes to be truly scary or truly gruesome, but they're undermined by poor editing - whether due to technical limitations or a conscious decision about what to show - that completely kills them. Unfortunately, this happens several times throughout the movie. It's a shame because this could have been a really great film, but in the end, it's just average and doesn't stand out in any way.

affiche

Casablanca (1942)

anglais I enjoy remembering certain films, and Casablanca is one of them. The eternal story of a love that could not be fulfilled. On the other hand, this is a fantastic conversational drama with absolutely impeccably crafted characters, so stylized that they simply must captivate you. Bogart, Bergman, Rains, Lorre, and Veidt - those are the names that create tremendous quality in one film. Simply something that every film fan should see.

TMB: Panyee FC (2011)

anglais It is said that sports are what unite many people, regardless of how different they may otherwise be. This certainly applies in football, especially because it offers the potential to achieve a lot. For example, even playing with a ball in a place where solid ground is scarce. A great reminder of how much people - and in this case, children - can achieve when they want to.

Road Rage (2012)

anglais Nice joke, but that's about it. The movie doesn't offer anything significant, just a glimpse of how people can sometimes be nervous and what can happen to them. It's quite original, there is imagination present, but in the end, it all comes down to the punchline.
