Dance troupe LeineRoebana’s regular dramaturge enters the dance studio, this time in the capacity of a filmmaker. In the peculiar intimacy of the studio, Peter Delpeut’s camera captures the ‘reflective rehearsing’ of the dancers. The result is a choreography of cinematographic close-ups, focusing on the dancers’ facial expressions; the face as a stage for dancing. In the process, the introverted, intense, cheerful, intimate, extroverted and provocative faces paint a portrait of this special dance company. (Nederlands Film Festival)
