The war for our forests is not fought with tanks but with harvesters. Fallen trees which remain after logging evoke an apocalyptic landscape. Do we have any other way to deal with the dreaded bark beetle? This visually enticing student film offers various perspectives of loggers, forestry workers, and locals. Clear-cut areas damage entire ecosystems and disrupt natural water cycles—and, albeit too late, we learn that we are also part of the problem. The current ways of managing the situation are rigid and mainly only eliminate the damage. How do the attempts to reforest the landscape fare?
