anglais At a time when Landsman already released six parts in the "Diary of a Modern Dad" series, it is no wonder that his fatherly stories are the subject of the feature debut of another promising personality of the popular Czech scene. With its introduction, it doesn't sound very appealing, and the casting of Mádl and Voříšková is also not surprising, but at least of the films Mádl has made recently (such as Waking Up Yesterday or Celebrity Ltd.), Diary of a Modern Dad is the more bearable of the bunch. anglais Diary of a Modern Dad features a likeable cast, believable performances, and an all-around enjoyable execution that counteracts the pervasive predictability of the plot and character development. Tereza Ramba was great, Jiří Mádl on the other hand looked helpless way too frequently, and the parents and ex-boyfriend were fine. I was quite taken with the idea of stuffed animals and a tape recorder - a decent ad for a toy company. I believe parents will enjoy the film all the more because, unlike childless people (like myself), they have experienced or are currently experiencing this. Better three stars! ()

anglais A few essential pieces of information at the beginning. Jiří Mádl sits well with me as a director, but as an actor, I don't particularly like Mádl. I'm not very fond of movies with children (especially with the fresh ones). Despite these considerable objections, the film didn't repel me in any way, although it is true that I didn't end up laughing properly throughout the entire time. It managed to evoke occasional amusement from me, but even so, it worked quite well until it came to the final burst of sudden romance. The conclusion was processed in the style of American romantic comedies, and I really don't like that. Today, I felt quite benevolent and considered giving it three stars, but the ending was enough to lower it to just two pieces. ()

anglais I'm not familiar with Dominik Landsman's popular novel of the same name, which is perhaps a good thing for its cinematic treatment, as I'm not burdened with the need to compare. It strikes me as a kind of nice family comedy, which we haven't seen so much of lately. And so I have no reason to criticize it more, although the humor is a bit scratchy in places. The casting of Jiří Mádl and Tereza Ramba in the main roles was a great choice, to my surprise, they were quite suitable for each other and sometimes sparks flew. (70%) ()

anglais A spanking and witty piece! The story starts with a pretty absurd agreement, seemingly lacking any connection with reality, but soon everything begins falling together and works surprisingly well. The two central characters played by T. Ramba and J. Mádl give high standard performances and the chemistry between them works exceptionally well. The plot has momentum and even thought it builds on relatively simple foundations, it works well till the very end. We even get a couple of emotional moments, which very pleasantly raise the quality of the whole movie. The only reason why I don’t award the Diary full marks is the almost slapstick close with "two different ending" both of which are simply too farfetched. In any case, a very successful comedy. ()
