Breaking the Silence

Luz is a member of the Embera Chami indigenous community. She left her home territory years ago after discovering she had had her clitoris mutilated. Cut off from her world; she tries to live the traditions she still remembers of her culture. Her only friend is Claudia, also Embera, who is the only link to her people. Driven by the pain of Luz, Claudia travels to the Embera territory to cultivate medicinal plants and dialogue with women about the meaning of being a woman and the practice of ablation.
