For more than twenty-five years Greenpeace has been confronting governments and industrial multinationals with their responsibility for the environment. The origins of the ecology organisation lie with a small group of peace activists, who protested against the Vietnam War. In the meantime, Greenpeace has developed into a professional, highly effective organisation, who seeks and gets publicity with spectacular actions. Greenpeace is the result of a thorough investigation of this organisation. Filmmaker Jean-Marie Hosatte succeeded in getting through to the policymakers of Greenpeace. His camera was also running when Greenpeace came into action on various continents, and he sailed on the Rainbow Warrior II when the ship was entered by the French navy in French Polynesia last July. His film recapitulates the developments Greenpeace went through over the last twenty-five years. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
