anglais Given its honesty, Mrs Kacka Intervenes... is one of the cutest films of the 1930s. After a lifetime of effort, Betty Kysilková worked her way up to the lead role here, developing all her characters of cooks, landladies, and gossipy women with hearts of gold in the proper space. The dream couple here is the classic Vítová - Krištof-Veselý duo, and of course the great coloring of the characters Ferenc and Fiala. If this film hadn’t been absurdly ignored in the TV memorial cycles, we would have avoided both the surprising discovery that it was a perfectly normal period piece, and also those opinions from the other side that such a film should remain forgotten.
