Director, Valentina Pedicini, sets off on an investigation of her childhood town, Brindisi in Apulia – a place that gained notoriety in the 90s from cigarette smuggling. Today the Italian coastal city is a trafficking hub for weapons and drugs. The mafia controls the operations and unemployment is steadily rising. Four people, four generations in one place. My Marlboro City is a poetic and personal film that lifts the fog of the past and lets the people speak of their city. (DOK.fest München)
