How to Be a Good Wife has at first glance an enticing premise and a really promising cast of three typologically completely different actresses: Juliette Binoche, Yolande Moreau, and Noémie Lvovsky, but it all falls apart due to a futile story and untapped potential, both in the characters and the setting, which is a real shame. The message framing is obvious and could easily have found its place in today's glut of feminist-themed films, but I still felt it could have been made in a more lively and humorous way. The final dance and music number had its charm, but it didn't fit the concept of the film at all. Better two stars!
