Throughout the world, there are cinema venues with a power to enthral. Not only because they were built by inspired architects, because they are splendidly decorated, or because they conceal forgotten treasures, but also because their stories are unique and almost novel-like. "Mythical Cinemas" series is a showcase of the greatest cinema palaces in the world. One of them The Lucerna was built in the heart of new Prague by Václav Havel, the grand-father of the playwright and Czech President of the same name. Located in the city centre, it is the apotheosis of this Art which had been dubbed "Nouveau". Václav Havel wanted his cinema to embody the Czech spirit and pride. Not only did he have his cinema built to fit the aesthetic principles of his day, he also had the right films made to suit his venue. The Prague Lucerna, as told by Tereza Brdečková and filmed by Joël Farges. (Ostrava Kamera Oko)
