Magalí

Magali is 45 and works as a medical assistant in a geriatric hospital in Buenos Aires. She receives news of the death of her mother who lived in the north of the country, in the mountains. She travels to her native town amidst an arid landscape of magical colours, where old traditions are still alive. Waiting for her there is her 10-year-old son Felix, from whom she fled to work in the city. A relationship slowly starts developing between mother and son. Meanwhile, a wild animal is prowling the area, attacking animals and scaring people. It appears not just in reality, but also in Magali’s and Felix’s dreams. Together they will have to fulfil their family duty and perform a ritual on which their and the community’s peace and future depend. (Warsaw Film Festival)
