Abbey Leaks is based on a true story that happened in the town of Abbeyloix in Ireland in 2001. Its result was the death of Irish Garda Sergeant John Effie who was shot in the back by another Irish Garda. Rumors (and never confirmed) Sergeant Effie was about to testify on the whole Garda National Response Unit for “crimes committed by them outside the rule of law. (Tiburon International Film Festival)
