(Apple TV+)

For All Mankind (2019)

anglais An alternative history of astronautics, where it was the Soviets who first landed on the moon, offers a quality mix of drama and space action. First Man meets Mad Men. Nothing to fault in acting terms, Kinnaman dominates and the girls now getting more prominent roles on the wave of feminism are just fine. The final, post-credits scene inviting you to the upcoming season is great. First rate. ()

Lune rouge (2019) (S01E01)

anglais Safety takes a backseat… An interesting premise that could have a lot to offer for the future. The screenwriters created excellent conditions for the space race to never end. So far it looks like a mix between Mad Men and Apollo 13. Kinnaman is solid; his performance as the man who could have been the first to walk on the moon is very convincing. Otherwise, apart from the guy who delivered a speech, nobody says much. The scene with the Soviets landing on the moon is crushing. ()

Les Femmes de Nixon (2019) (S01E03)

anglais The best episode so far. Strongly feminist, but the girls are chosen excellently. They are much more than just pretty faces. Sarah Jones rocks. The finale works with secrecy and it works excellently. The results of the accident seem worse when we don’t see it, but just have to imagine it. ()

Salut, Bob (2019) (S01E07)

anglais Crazy shit on the Moon. Playing back scenes from this series is an indication of gradual loss of sanity is both funny and scary at the same time. This runs on the spot in terms of technology and I’m impatient to see some Soviets already. The lesbian scenes just slow things down. But maybe they’ll lead somewhere. ()

Rupture (2019) (S01E08)

anglais The gloomy direction that has little to do with space conquest gets under your skin and doesn't let go. You can do a lot of things in ten days. This is going to be even more interesting. ()
