Sans même chercher d’autre raison, il faut que je mette cinq étoiles à La Mafia ne fût-ce que par pure nostalgie. Quand j’étais encore à l’école maternelle, j’étais Cattani – moi et personne d’autre ! Après des années et après avoir oublié toute l’intrigue, je me suis repassé la série et on peut dire que ça n’a pas vieilli ! Une œuvre intemporelle sur le combat vain avec la mafia qui établit le fait que seule une personne sans famille qui ne se soucie ni de la vie des autres ni même de la sienne peut faire face.

If someone says Italian series, The Octopus automatically springs to mind first. And why not, indeed. Neither the almost indecently impoverished appearance, nor the rather plodding take-off do anything to change that. You know the deal. Of course, it takes a while before a locomotive gets up to speed, but try stopping it once it is cruising. And almost all negatives are compensated for with the “ominous" musical motif, the uncompromising screenplay and excellently written dialogs typical of the eighties.
