When respected Judge Thomas Layton is killed during a re-creation of the Alexander Hamilton / Aaron Burr duel, Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) question his duel partner, George Pagonis (guest star Xander Berkeley), husband to Maureen Pagonis (guest star Donna Murphy), prominent political candidate and possible first female Mayor of New York.
