The pace slackens, but there is plenty of detailed information, a bunch of tough miners, and the relationship between Legasov and Sterbina, who gradually become a peculiar pair of inseparable amigos, is brilliantly portrayed. Of course, the raw authenticity and urgency with the hallmark of a real event still crushes everything in its path and pulls the quality high up. ()
I've been singing praises for the past two episodes, but the third one was even better. Once again, hats off to the creators for crafting an atmosphere that's downright chilling. While today's horror movies often leave me chuckling, Chernobyl sends shivers down my spine. And that funeral scene with the concrete mixer? That's the stuff nightmares are made of. ()
