I like that the film is able to portray the bigamist as a truly sad and tragic hero, with whom you almost sympathize. I also like that the creators were not focused on having the youngest and most beautiful actresses. Ida Lupino and Joan Fontaine are beautiful, but they are definitely not in their twenties anymore. That is precisely why they fit perfectly into their roles.
