Juventud

With an explicit autobiographical dimension, Hermosillo returns to his hometown of Aguascalientes to narrate the passion and conflicts of being a teenager in the late Fifties. As he spends time at film shows in El Colonial with his friend Marcos, Hernán –the filmmaker’s alter ego– starts to discover his calling to be a writer, influenced by his cinephile spirit, literature, and theater, but also comic books and radio serials. A story about learning amidst a popular context where high and low culture intertwine to turn an aesthetic vision into a complex personal experience. (Guadalajara International Film Festival)
