The wealthy and rather bored landscape architect Evi Müller-Todt lives with her plastic surgeon husband Claus in their comfortable villa. One day, in a burst of red-wine-induced whimsy, Claus takes out an ad for a new cleaner: "Slave wanted (m/f)". Astonished by the leather-clad figures that soon gather at his door, he realises his ad has been taken quite literally. At the behest of a shocked Evi, Claus sends the applicants away, only to receive an unexpected courtesy call from Bartos. Well-groomed, educated and ready to serve, Bartos signals his willingness to enter into a more traditional master-servant relationship. After some initial snags, the Müller-Todts begin to enjoy the heavenly pampering they receive from their new servant, who is soon joined by his young wife, Lana and the situation gets increasingly out of hand. anglais It hadn’t happened to me for a long time that I had to think so long and hard about a movie as I had to do about this German comedy. But is it even a comedy? If so, it is quite a dark one. During its two hours long running time I enjoyed excellent humor that was similar to the Czech Sklep Theater’s production of Česká soda. That’s why the Germans deserve my praise for their effort. The topic is quite absurd in itself and it must be obvious to the viewer just after first five minutes that this will not be your classical comedy. Thanks to the performances of the great Katja Riemann and Oliver Masucci who is constantly getting better and better I eventually decided to rate it with 4 stars even though I was quite shocked after watching those fascist ideology-related thoughts and moments. Otherwise it was great. The Germans are not afraid of controversy and therefore they deserve my praise. ()
