Sleepers

If the Russian Federation had a Ministry of Propaganda, it would certainly be proud of this series. For the most part, the creators weren’t trying to hide whose side they were on. Paradoxically I didn't mind. I'm not a puppet who dances to anybody’s tune, plus, the so-called democratic states are doing practically the same thing. I was just annoyed that the creators sometimes didn’t worry about pushing a square peg through a triangular hole and had an overly naïve approach to certain matters. In any case, the series wasn’t bad at all, it didn't get boring for even a second, and I was definitely happy to hear some Russian. English seems to be ever-present, so I find the occasional change refreshing. (08/09/2019)

The second Sleepers received the same rating from me as the first, although I admit that the first season was better. I find it funny how the Russians and Americans always pick and choose what they find convenient, add a bit of self-criticism for the sake of appearances, and then enter the Cold War again :-) Just like last time, the writer kept dramatically changing gear, the season finale was overly hasty and Arťom could have really only been saved by his parents, but at the end of the day I had a great time, I was pleased to see the opposite perspective and satisfaction prevailed.
