Transférée dans une nouvelle école, Haruka se fait harceler par ses camarades qui n’hésitent pas à lui en faire voir de toutes les couleurs. Un jour, la maison de la jeune fille prend feu et sa famille meurt dans l’incendie. La vengeance qu’entame Haruka va être très, très sanglante. Cette adaptation du manga homonyme revisite des thématiques chères aux canons narratifs nippons, abordées ici au travers d’une violence inouïe que contraste un sublime décor hivernal. It’s alright while the feeling of a serious film about school relationships and bullying prevails. The important thing, though, is in what part of the film this is overcome by the feeling of “this is bullshit!” To me, that happened pretty early…

This Japanese revenge bully splatter sounded appealing, but unfortunately didn't live up to its potential. As long as the film focused on school bullying, it felt believable and quite gritty, but the revenge aspect itself is uninteresting due to the not so good CGI effects (the gore is very bad) and rather than excitement or enthusiasm, it makes you laugh and cry at the same time. There are a few interesting moments, but due to the long running time, I wasn't very entertained by the end. 3 stars and being generous. 50%
