Barry is a dark comedy starring Bill Hader as a depressed, low-rent hitman from the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an aspiring actor. Barry follows his “mark” into an acting class and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene. Barry wants to start a new life as an actor but his criminal past won’t let him walk away - can he find a way to balance both worlds? (South by Southwest Film Festival)

Season 1 (2018) (S01)
The first season had many dull moments, which cost it one star. Apart from these moments I greatly enjoyed it because the creators managed to blend the comedy and the drama, Bill Hader was great as Barry, and the story worked for me. It’s a shame that it wasn’t possible to get rid of the above-mentioned boring parts, otherwise I would have gladly given it five stars.

Season 2 (2019) (S02)
In the first season, I complained about dull moments, for which I couldn’t give five stars, and since there were significantly fewer of them in the second season, I had to push the score up. I binge-watched all eight episodes in one afternoon because I just couldn’t resist. I enjoyed it to the fullest.
