A Fine Line explores why only six percent of head chefs and restaurant owners are women, when historically and traditionally women have always held the central role in the kitchen. Director Joanna James presents perspectives and experiences from world-renowned chefs, including San Francisco’s very own and World’s Best Female Chef Dominique Crenn, Emmy Award Winning TV Host Lidia Bastianich, Two Michelin Star Chef April Bloomfield and one of Time Magazine’s Most Influential People Barbara Lynch. Woven throughout is the personal story of Valerie James, a small town restaurateur with a larger than life personality. Valerie is a single mother on a mission to do what she loves, while raising two kids and bravely facing the odds stacked mighty high against her. (Napa Valley Film Festival)
