Raxlen found a piece of black-and-white silent film on a toy projector in an antique shop. The 1926 one-minute piece was from Mutt and Jeff. Using 35mm blown-up frames, paper prints from photocopies, and pen and ink drawings, Raxlen created a reconstruction-deconstruction of one of animation’s earliest teams. (Ann Arbor Film Festival)
