This unconventional and bold drama definitely poses more questions than it answers. And provokes more than pleases. Single mother Iva lives with her five-year-old daughter Sophia and is struggling to make ends meet. One day they meet their new neighbour, the mysterious Hedi, who does what she likes and is not afraid others how she feels. Slowly, Hedi works her way into their lives and the two women start a relationship. German-Mongolian director Uisenma Borchu, who plays the role of the inscrutable Hedi herself, is playing with gender roles, training a bright spotlight on topics such as identity, heritage, sexuality, body and power. In minor parts we meet Iva's absent father and Hedi's Mongolian grandmother, the only person who is allowed to question her granddaughter's choices. (Göteborg Film Festival)
