Victor is a womanizing crime novelist, his son Zack a shy cello-player from Amsterdam. When Victor gets kicked out by Zack's mother, it turns out Zack has also just been dumped by his girlfriend. With nowhere else to go, the two involuntary singles set off on a turbulent trip to Scotland where both men gain a deeper understanding of themselves and each other. A film with a remarkable role for the music of the legendary band The Waterboys about a father who needs to grow up and a son who should take life less seriously. (HBO Europe)
