With a pragmatic documentary approach, The Grind depicts the annual Faroese whaling tradition in which whales near the island's shores are slaughtered. The author wants to draw attention to the fact that this ancient tradition originated in a time when the people needed to be fed, but since then it has turned into senseless genocide. (Anifilm)
