The darkest hour is just before the dawn. For a parent, what is darker than the loss of a child? Neal has it all: the foreign cars, the Palo Alto mansion, a stunning wife, and on top of it all, he's the father to two beautiful girls. But like Icarus flying too close to the sun, his life comes crashing down with the suicide of his youngest daughter. Pointing a mirror directly at our modern culture, director Saila Kariat's poignant and haunting The Valley addresses pressing issues about our humanity, through the story of the love of a father as he tries to search for whose hands are dirtied by the blood of his daughter. In his search of possible lovers, roommates, virtually anything that could help him figure out what happened, what he uncovers will change his life forever. (Cinequest Festival)
