anglais I've loaded up on a bit too many historical films, which I don't love as much, but similarly to Lady Macbeth, the movie My Cousin Rachel relies on excellent acting performances. Great acting can be expected from Rachel Weisz, but Sam Claflin surprised me; I hadn't really believed in him until now. The actors also handle strong emotions well. ()

anglais Philip's behavior got on my nerves, as it did for many others, but that doesn't mean I'm going to condemn the whole film because of it. I've always liked the British playwright Daphne du Maurier and Roger Michell captures the emotional turmoil of the main character and the mysterious atmosphere of her novel quite well. The film's positives also include successful period costumes and beautiful locations in which the story takes place. Whether Rachel, the cousin, was a calculating vixen or a woman troubled by fate is something we can only speculate about, but it's not necessary to have an answer to every question. In real life, there are a lot of unanswered questions too. (70%) ()
