Maria et Marco, deux ados italiens, décident d'aller passer une partie de l'été à San Francisco où ils sont accueillis chez un couple gay à peine plus âgé qu'eux. Au cours de ces quelques jours, ces quatre jeunes gens issus d'univers différents remettent en question leurs certitudes et se lient d'une profonde amitié... Récit initiatique et histoire d'amour, Summertime s'attache à quatre jeunes qui découvrent qu'ils ont beaucoup en commun. This is the Italians’ response to the local youth who are so sick and tired of Italy that they decide to get to know the world of America. Overall, I liked the idea that if I don’t know what to do, I can decide to travel to find out what I’m really like along the way. I also liked the thought of interlocking fates of four people who hadn’t met before, but after they did, they’ve spent the best two weeks of their lives together. Until their lives separated forever once again, that is. It was sad but full of interesting truths that truly do have something to them.
