The star of this film isn't Louis Pasteur himself, but primarily Paul Muni, who once again demonstrated what a great actor he is and how he can handle the roles of various controversial or significant characters without being overly dramatic. Sure, it lacks something compared to Scarface and Muni is stronger as Zola, but still, he's great. ()
