Newspaper reporter Ben, still haunted by the death of his colleague, now has to contend with his replacement - ambitious and inexperienced Nora, as they work for exclusive stories behind the battle lines of the Al Qaeda and Taliban-backed Islamic Movement in the former Soviet state of Uzbekistan. But when Nora's unprofessional, "snapshot" pictures wind up revealing a story that becomes a front-page scoop, Ben and Nora, with the help of a spy named Rainy, launched a dangerous and intricate search for the truth. The film suffers quite a bit from questionable direction, television production design and some unnecessarily long-winded dialogue. Yet it is an impressive look at the work and life of war reporters, and it also presents a couple of interesting topics.
