Dominic Gill has gone to extraordinary lengths to find some new friends – by riding a tandem bicycle from the wild northern coast of Alaska to the southern tip of South America, with an empty backseat, just to pick up people to talk to along the way.

The 30,000 mile journey has taken over two years to complete. Dominic's route takes him through wildly contrasting social and physical landscapes – everything from the glamour of Hollywood to the very real dangers of crossing the lawless no-mans-land between Panama and Colombia.

Along the way, he faces everything from pedalling for his life after being threatened by a machete-wielding Mexican, to sampling sheep's head soup for breakfast in Peru. He camps with jail birds and sleeps in police stations, fire stations, family homes, schools and often by the road with only a bike and snakes for company.

Dominic shares his journey with peasants, policemen, drifters, mayors, women he fancies – anyone that he can persuade to help him pedal his tandem a few miles further along the marathon he set himself. Through one man's epic, compelling journey, "Take a Seat" offers a brand new look at what the world has to offer. (texte officiel du distributeur)
